Welcome to our Brothers Team
President's Welcome
On behalf of the Townsville Brothers Swimming Club Executive committee and coach I would like to welcome the existing and brand new members to our Club. We look forward to having a fantastic 2017/2018 year with you all.
Our aim is:
- To ensure communication between our coach, swimmers and committee is 100%.
- To increase the number of swimmers attending club nights, interclub carnivals and state carnivals.
- To promote the full range of swimmers.
- To have more social activities available and continue to build on the current "club spirit".
- For the club to remain financially viable.
The club’s aim is to ensure that the balance between good coaching, state of the art equipment, family and competitive atmosphere and a financially affordable environment is achieved. We understand that families are busy however also really appreciate any help which can be offered throughout the year. Please feel free to have a chat to the committee members if you would like to offer your assistance!
Bindi Cussen has been the clubs Head Coach since 2012 and has proven to be a great success taking our club from a small club to a great club with many swimmers going to state meets. Through his assertive coaching approach which encourages and promotes hard work we have greatly increased our club numbers and also our swimmers success. In the past many of our Brother’s swimmers have attended the State Short Course, State Long Course and State Sprint Championships.
Another great benefit of our club is that our club can swim all year round at Kirwan Aquatic Centre, our club feeds their swimmers from the successful Love2Swim School; their swimmers have the opportunity to come to our club nights and see the potential to become a member of our great club. Our Club has Junior, Pre-Senior and Senior squads and has many social events. These will always be advertised not only through the website but also through our Facebook site as well.
At Townsville Brothers Swimming Club, we also have introduced a Masters Club (The Aquaholics) this year as well. This caters for the more mature athlete as well and offer some club nights and competition and training for all ages and ability levels. Don’t be shy- bring the togs down and enjoy the fun!
If you have any queries, or even a suggestion on how we can improve your Club or have the contact of potential sponsors, please let myself or any other Committee members know. These sponsors form an integral part of our club! We appreciate any ideas or feedback and look forward to chatting to you all during the 2017/2018 swimming season!
